The Diamond Jeweller supplies watches that come with the full manufacturer’s international warranty, which is typically 2 years. This warranty covers any defect in operation or manufacture during this period. Unlike most watches purchased on the internet, all our warranty cards are endorsed by an official authorised dealer. This makes the warranty valid at your local high street dealer for warranty work, future servicing, battery changes and even bracelet sizing. The serial code number is vital and must be kept intact, as it is confirmation that the finished watch complies with the manufacturer’s quality criteria, and is the essential reference required to benefit from the international warranty. Please also note that certain brands may take slightly longer than others, especially those limited edition watches. CARING FOR YOUR LUXURY WATCH Your luxury watch, like all precision micro-mechanical devices, should be serviced by an authorised dealer once a year. By 1908 it had become one of the leading watch companies in the UK. "Official Chronometer Certification" was awarded to Rolex in 1910 from the "Bureau Officiel" in Switzerland, the first time this had ever been given to a wristwatch. In 1926, the Rolex Oyster was released. It was the first wristwatch to be considered waterproof, proven a year later when the watch was worn by the swimmer Mercedes Gleitze in his successful bid to cross the English Channel. This was highly beneficial to Wilsdorf who had sponsored the event and who therefore gained considerable exposure for his new model. Wilsdorf certainly recognised the importance of advertising and marketing his creation in order to gain publicity and prestige. Rolex has continued to invent and design superb timepieces which have now secured the Rolex brand as one of the world's most prestigious. BREITLING - The Breitling company was founded in 1884 by Leon Breitling in St Imier, Switzerland. One of the most popular and most recognised models is the Breitling Navitimer which was launched in 1952, equipped with the famous navigation computer which is capable of handling all calculations required by a flight plan, which soon became a firm favourite amongst pilots around the globe. Breitling watches are available in steel, precious metals or titanium, with a myriad of dial treatments, straps and bracelets, not to mention the many different and highly specialised features from alarms to emergency transmitters. EBEL - An acronym of the first letters of the founder's names - Eugene Blum et Levy- EBEL was founded in 1911, and the brand embodies a tireless pursuit of perfection. Many famous celebrities including Claudia Schiffer and Andre Agassi have been associated with this luxury watch brand, which continues to go from strength to strength. IWC - The International Watch Company (IWC) was the realisation of the combination of an American dream and Swiss technology in the 1850s. An American gentleman, Florentine Ariosto Jones, wanted to sell Swiss movements in the US. At that time, Switzerland was impregnated with innumerable skilled watch making craftsmen on very low wages. Therefore, the business-minded Jones was able to take advantage of this situation. IWC continued to blossom until 1944 when the American Air Force bombed the city of Schaffhausen and the IWC production plants were a victim. However, the end of the Second World War signalled a revival of the IWC company as well as the Swiss watch making industry as a whole and the new lease of life has seen IWC become one of the world's leading luxury watch brands. JAEGER LECOULTRE - The Jaeger LeCoultre brand of luxury watches is one of the world's leading brands. Founded in 1833, a small factory was opened by Antoine LeCoultre in the town of Le Sentier. LeCoultre's movements were so highly regarded that other watch manufacturers often purchased movements from them. Indeed, LeCoultre's success was so great that between 1900 and 1919, 40,000 raw movements were produced, each one selling for between 100 and 400 francs, which back then was not an incosiderable amount of money. Jaeger LeCoultre continues to thrive and if you are contemplating the purchase of a Jaeger LeCoultre wristwatch, then you have made an excellent choice - it is a highly prestigious and respected brand with a long and wonderful history as well as a proven track record. TAG HEUER - With the two main ambassadors for this brand being Steve McQueen and Leonardo DiCaprio, it is no surprise to learn that TAG Heuer is one of the world's leading watch brands. |
